The box is certainly no longer on the small round table at the rear of that shop.

But it is very difficult to even intentionally lose some things forever.

Will you continue to update the list of people who have received the Alchemy kits, along with the kit number? When you leave one in the wild to be found by anyone, do you leave contact information so you know it was found? Is it important for us to know the complete contents of each kit in regards to the story? Am I asking to many questions or not enough questions?

The people waiting on boxes in the mail were either chosen at random in a contest held months ago, or responded to my call for addresses one year ago.

There are many boxes left to get to new owners. Some will be sought and recovered like the one found this morning at the Lowell Observatory.

Some will be discovered by chance, like the one left atop the penny-flattening device in Roswell last week.

Some still sit in darkness, like the one beneath the walkway where the kid escaped.

So, to answer your question, I don’t choose who gets them.

Here we walk a line.

Though the things lost and yet gained may be right beside us in this ocean, we have but one path. Here.

And the gaps between the things we seek are some of the most unbearable of walks.

But things are coming, and things are happening. They are invisible from this set of bricks, but they are there all the same.

For better or for worse, things are coming.

The new Alchemy Starter Sets are nearly ready to be shipped to those owed one.

The United States Postal Service has come a long way. But not all the way.

And I have been told to expect a delay in what I need from them.

Meanwhile, there are other things to send and assemble. New things. And new waits.

But these sets are ready, and our story waits for them to find new hands.

I was in a field, watching the lightning rod atop a house, wondering when it would be that rod’s turn to stand at this end of Thunder Road.

Though one’s gaze may keep the water in the pot from boiling, I can testify that it does not provide the same protection to the water in the sky.

I have heard people compare falling in love to being hit by lightning. From what I have seen of both, I would have to agree.
